  • Scotland 2013 Day Three

    Wed 22 May 2013

Time is just racing by as day three comes to a sleepy close! The day began with a hearty breakfast followed by a short coach trip to Edinburgh's Dynamic Earth Project. Here the children were able to enter a space capsule and travel back in time to the very beginning of the planet earth's formation and then follow the changes to the planet through film, shows and interactive activities.
The butterfly house proved to be very interesting with many different species of butterfly fluttering around in a humid, tropical greenhouse containing strange and varied plants! The children were able to hold and lift giant millipedes, snakes and trantulas in the reptile house, observe other reptiles and watch the maze of tiny ants navigate through the houses on a series of interlinking ropes.
The day concluded with a trip to the cinema to watch Iron Man 3....Excellent.

  • Scotland 2013 Day Two

    Tue 21 May 2013
Day Two was just as excellent as day one and the brilliant weather just added to the atmosphere. We headed off after breakfast to Blair Drummond Adventure and Safari Park. The visit began with a coach tour around the Safari Park with Mrs Sadlier on the microphone.... just halarious! Next we watched some sea lions perform some fantastic acrobatics. After lunch we learned about and watched some spectacular local birds of prey, the Water Safari and chimpanzee island tour concluded the educational part of the day so the bumper cars, play park and giant slide were next on the agenda!
After the evening meal we met the ghost walk guides for a spooky and extremely funny historical tour of the old parts of the magnificant city of Edinburgh!
All is quiet in the hotel and the children are all settled in their rooms... sleeping....in preparation for another hectic and entertaining day!

    Enjoy the photographs!

  • Scotland 2013 Day One

    Mon 20 May 2013

Day one  began with a very early start in St Bernard's primary school carpark! After a short trip to Belfast port we had the pleasure of a smooth crossing on the Stena Superfast VIII to Scotland. We enjoyed a very pretty coastal journey on the coaches to Glasgow! Once in Glasgow we went to the Science Museum for lunch and an interactive biological show!

Edinburgh was the  destination and we arrived in very good time at the Premier Inn, checked in, found our rooms and enjoyed a well cooked meal. In the evening we had a short walk for a game of Ten Pin bowling.... all very good fun!
All the boys and girls settled well for the night and that includes the teachers!

    Enjoy the photographs!
