As part of our writing work in Literacy we recentlly completed a series of lessons on Newspaper Recounts. We explored newspaper articles and identified the language features and structure of this genre. Our end challenge was to become a journalist, and with a partner compose an interesting and imaginative news recount, using ICT. The end products were truly excellent and included catchy headlines, an orientation and eye witness reports. We also inserted pictures and a by-line. Here are some samples of our work.
