Decision Alley

As part of our World Around Us topic on Bugs, Birds and Beasts, we used an active learning method called Decision Alley today, to work out which was the best pet - a cat or a dog. First we worked in pairs to come up with the pros and cons of both, then we formed two lines, one side representing the CATS and the other side the DOGS. Each person in turn had to give an argument or opinion as to the reason why a cat or dog was best, then Mrs Hackett weighed up the strength of everyone’s argument and counted them. The winners, by one vote, were the DOGS, but everyone made very compelling and totally different arguments. It was great fun!
