Dublin Day 2

So Day 2 of the 2014 P7 trip...
we woke up to a warm, sunny day and enjoyed a full Irish breakfast to set us up for the day. We hopped on board the buses for the short journey to Dublin Zoo. We were met by Jim and Lisa, our tour guides, who took us to see the elephants, monkeys, exotic birds, the reptile room and we even got to meet the zoo's latest addition, the baby giraffe! We also had the opportunity to observe the wild animals on the African savannah. After a well deserved picnic lunch in Phoenix Park, we headed into town. We took a slight detour via President D. Higgins' humble abode. In town we were met by our Viking Splash Tour guides to head off on amphibious World War 2 vehicles. We had an interesting, historical land tour of Dublin, followed by a splash into the Grand Canal, where we saw and learned about famous people and places in Dublin City centre. This included the recording studios of U2 and apartments owned by Louis Walsh, Colin Farrell and Jedward. Sadly there was nobody at home in any of them!
We then returned to the hotel for a quick dinner and off we went again, this time to the omniplex in Coolock for bowling and playing at amusements.
Following such a busy day, we are very hopeful of an early, quiet, dream- filled, undisturbed night..
